Heidi is now announced as XOYO‘s resident for the fourth quarter of 2016. We can now finally reveal the insanely strong roster of talent on Heidi’s lineup as she presents three months of her renowned Jackathon parties, every Friday in October, November and December at XOYO. Hand picked by Heidi herself, each guest has been selected for a different reason but one thing runs throughout the billing, their ability to make Heidi dance her ass off.
“I’m beyond excited to bring my Jackathon parties to London for 11 whole weeks. Where I’ve been able to have the freedom to book dj’s that have all moved me in some way before i started out in this biz and beyond. Every one of them has a different vibe from the next which gives it the diversity that I always try to achieve with my parties. Being able to do it in the city I live in is an added bonus. So everyone get ready to dance harder then you ever have before. Faces down…..asses up. Let’s do this and sweat out our weekly demons.” – Heidi
To open the residency Heidi has invited the Polish born, Detroit raised Magda to join her at the helm of XOYO. Boss of the prolific Items & Things label, Magda’s ability to mix the off-kilter and the uncommon whilst holding the dancefloor in the palm of her hand has given her a reputation as one of the most exciting DJs of our time. Prosumer steps up alongside injecting his fever for Chicago’s Jack flavour into the night – What a way to kick things off.
Friday 14th October offers up an XOYO debut from a technically sublime DJ who’s energy brings joy to dancefloors across the globe, The Black Madonna. Music director to Chicago’s Smart Bar, an immensely important club right now and a DJ of undeniable talent, she is arguably the most sought after on today’s techno and disco circuit. We continue into October in a similarly strong way with a DJ set from Berlin’s unrestrainedly diverse duo Modeselektor on Friday 21st October. Visionaries of seemingly disparate genres, but always with an emphasis on heavy basslines and warpy synths, their unparalleled influence on dance music has been constant since their inception – It’s an honour to welcome them to the basement.
A true innovator, Kerri Chandler steps up alongside Heidi on the last Friday of October for a night of deep house splendour. His penchant not only for playing music out to a loving crowd but for the technology and instruments used to produce it has made Chandler a pioneering force of dance music for years. It’s no wonder he’s hailed as one of the greats. In November, the ever prolific acid house veterans Luke Vibert and DJ Pierre join Heidi for an all out session of 303 goodness; with Gerd Janson and Lauer also bringing their Tuff City Kids project to the November bill. December sees the Chicago house pinnacle that is Derrick Carter as well as a deep and dirty Detroit inspired session from Mike Servito.
For the finale on Friday 16th December, Heidi will be celebrating her Birthday with two back to back parties. For the day session, Heidi is joined by a friend and DJ of the highest calibre, Richie Hawtin. A party which is sure to go down in the club’s history, Hawtin is not only one of the most revered DJs of all time but has conceptualised the experience of dance music with his ever-ambitious project ENTER. For the night session, Heidi is joined by the iconic Maya Jane Coles and Miss Kitten to take us through to the early hours.
