After two successful editions of Wooded events in Wroclaw, Catz ‘N Dogz bring the event to their hometown of Szczecin, Poland, on 23 June, 2018. Wooded City is a collaborative passion project between four friends: Voitek and Greg from Catz ‘N Dogz, Marysia Shepheard from Feast Artists and Rafal Caly from C&C Bookings. Each bring over 10 years of industry and partying experience to the creation of Wooded.
Their dream is to create an event that incorporates their love of quality underground electronic music and original eco-friendly production, with a strong culture and lifestyle element, including great local food, art installations from local designers and a kid zone with special activities designed especially for children and young adults (e.g. Music Production Masterclass curated by Polish artists).
The line-up has been handpicked by the four friends to showcase a mixture of live and genre-defining house and techno artists who inspire them. First acts announced for 2018 include: Berghain and Panorama Bar residents Answer Code Request and Ryan Elliott, Kater Blau’s Mira, Catz ‘N Dogz and local Szczecin’s collective Canalia. The concert part of the line-up is headlined by talented duo The Dumplings (aka Justyna Święs and Kuba Karaś) who are currently one of Poland’s most popular artists of the new generation. Their concert at Wooded City will be the band’s first performance in the city of Szczecin year! As is the tradition, the festival will be opened by the winner of the Wooded City DJ competition, in line with Catz ‘N Dogz’s philosophy of supporting the thriving musical talent that exists in Poland. Long-time champions of the Polish scene with a new residency at Smolna in Warsaw, Catz ‘N Dogz decided to stage the festival in Szczecin to support the city and its artists who gave them their start. With Szczecin just a two-hour train ride from Berlin, it also links comfortably to the German capital and makes an easy day trip for Berlin-based attendees seeking out a new musical experience this summer.
The open-air boutique event is organised in co-operation with the City of Szczecin and SAA (Szczecin Art Agency) and will have a capacity of 2,500.
