Shelter Amsterdam proudly announces its May 2018 program, presenting a variety of top-tier artists every single night at the concrete basement to round up the Amsterdam club season in style.
Starting on Friday May 4, a night which is co-curated by techno outfit LET, Shelter has invited Marcel Dettmann as its guest of honour, joined by LET frontman JP Enfant. Saturday the 5th will feature Belgian brothers 2manydjs, making their mark with a more house-tinged performance for the occasion, deviating from their usual all-round musical palette.
The following week, starting Wednesday the 9th of May, Shelter launches The Holy Marathon – built around Ascension day that week. The Marathon consists of a four-day program, the first night of which will see South Africa’s electronic music icon: Black Coffee. His African rhythm-infused house will be backed by the equally enticing selections of Shelter resident/Circoloco regular William Djoko. The next day Shelter opens its doors again for a rare Amsterdam club performance with Ben Klock. The Berghain resident and Klockworks founder is joined by Makam and resident Juan Sanchez. The Marathon continues the following day with house ambassador Tom Trago, who will be playing with DJ Sotofett, and ends with an all-nighter of Secret Cinema on Saturday May 12th.
The following weekend will be a three-day one and is opened by no one less than famed Paul Kalkbrenner on thursday May 17th, making a stop at the Amsterdam nightclub as part of his new album tour ‘Parts Of Life’. DVS1 and Sandrien will follow up on Friday, while Frank Wiedemann will head downstairs on Saturday as Âme LIVE, for which Marcus Worgull and Shelter resident Tsepo will join him.
Mano Le Tough will be up for his Shelter debut on the last Friday of the month. The program will be completed as Donato Dozzy and Neel make the final stop of their Spazio Disponibile tour – after visits to Berghain, Concrete Paris and Village Underground. The two co-founders of the highly regarded label will be playing alongside other guests, who will be revealed only once doors have opened that night.
